   D3 Plus Antenna

The primary station consists of dual Kenwood TS950SD transceivers rigged to receive four channels simultaneously and transmit on either transceiver on any of the four channels.  Each rig is normally operated with 2.7 Khz filter width but on occasion opened up to 3.0 Khz bandwidth.  Amplifiers include a 37 year old Henry model 4K2, which uses a 5CX1500 tube,  and a 25 year old Henry 2K4 with a pair of 3-500Zs.  The antenna system consists of a W5GI Mystery antenna, which covers 80-2 meters, and a similar design mono-band antenna for 17 meters.  Both antennas are coupled to a single feed line and tuned with an MFJ 989 match box.  The station is monitored at all times with 3 scopes... one to monitor speech pattern, a second scope to monitor bandwidth, and the third to insure that the signal is linear leaving the amplifier.
